Mhada, the housing and development authority of Mumbai announces housing schemes each year for the residents of Mumbai. This authority has played an important role in providing low cost housing to people of Maharashtra. Maharashtra housing and development authority has brought up affordable housing in various locations of Maharashtra in the last few years. These include -

Mhada forms 2013 would be available to people in the last week of April 2013 and the Mhada Lottery Draw Results would be announced on 31st May 2013.
Under Mhada Lottery 2013, this authority of Mumbai has decided to offer around 4272 flats in these locations. These would be divided into different income schemes such as - Lower Income Group, Middle Income Group, Higher Income Group and Economically Weaker Section. The break up of the income levels as per which the applicants would be eligible to apply for the Mhada lottery is as follows -
Around 2643 flats would be available to the people who come under the category of lower income group. To apply for Mhada Forms 2013, the income level of these people should lie between Rs. 8,000 and Rs. 20,000. Similarly, around 965 low cost housing flats would be available to the people whose income comes between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 40,000 and another 664 would be for the economically weaker section ( EWS ) ie. those whose income is less than Rs. 8,000.
Mhada told the online forms would be available to residents in mid April 2013. These forms can either be downloaded from the official mhada website or they can be obtained from authorized banks. The details regarding which banks would offer the forms are yet to the announced.
The procedure to apply for the Mhada lottery is really easy. After attaining the form, the applicant needs to the first fill up the section of Scheme Details. Some of the other sections that are required to be properly filled up include group no, category no, applicant details such as name, permanent address, pan card number, occupation and marital status. The last section comprises of the bank account details. One needs to ensure that all these information is properly filled up so that his/ her form is not rejected.
After the draw, the applicants can check the application status of their form from the official mhada website and find out whether they have been lucky enough to win a flat in Mhada Lottery.
Also, Mhada has just announced that soon they are scheduled for a meeting with other authorities to check whether the flats in the location of Virar would actually be a part of the lottery for 2013.
